Russian Railways, regions mull building Murmansk grain terminal

MOSCOW, Jul 20 (PRIME) -- Russian Railways and the Murmansk and Oryol regions are working on building a grain terminal in the port of Murmansk, the company said in a statement on Monday.

“Russian Railways held a meeting with the governments of the Murmansk and Oryol regions to discuss the issues of creation of a new grain terminal on the territory of the Murmansk Commercial Seaport. The sides discussed possible main parameters of the project’s implementation and drafted a plan of further work,” the statement read.

The goal of creation of the terminal is to diversify export directions for grain and to strengthen Russia’s positions on the international agriculture market.
